One of the key services provided by the Jamaat is to provide support to parents who cannot pay their children's school fees. Jamaat believes that the future of its members and of the Jamaat itself lies in well-educated members. It is through education that the well-being of members would improve. Jamaat spends more than 20 million a year in supporting deserving children. The education committee of the Management Committee handles decisions on education matters. The education committee of the Jamaat consists of the following members:
The main activity carried out by the committee is to decide which child deserves the support. The support is need and ability-based. Parents who can demonstrate that they cannot pay the fees are supported. Only those children who perform well in their respective schools receive Jamaat support. Further, the child has to show that he/she attends school regularly. A member seeking help has to fill in a form that provides details about the member and the child. To get the support some conditions apply. These are:
- A member has to be an active member having paid a Jamaat subscription for four years.
Jamaat does not pay 100% of the fees unless in special cases.
- Parents have to contribute half of the fees.
- Fees are not paid for children in pre-primary schools.
